The project I worked on for Global Game Jam 2021, the theme was "Lost and Found".
We immediately wanted to make a game about a dog looking for the bone it buried, but we thought the concept of a pirate looking for the treasure they buried to be quite intriguing as well, so we decided to combine the two.
We also realized that we can make the game stand out by making it multiplayer without needing to add more work for us by using Hotseat Multiplayer.
Player 1 shoots the golden bone out of a cannon into a beautifully decorated island while player 2 has a screenshot of where the bone landed in order to find it fast.
Players switch sides and do the same thing, and a winner is declared depending on who found the bone faster.
The biggest think going for us was the small scope, and we are very proud of the result.
