My Minor Production project for AIE Year 1.
Wiz-Kid is short rogue-like dungeon crawler where you play as a novice mage that cannot channel mana, therefore casting spells costs health.
This was a hard mechanic to manage but we included enough healing mechanics and a "Panic state" which lets you survive death for a few more seconds in which you can heal.
The game was way over-scoped for such a project, but my amazing team delivered!
This was made by a team of 10 people in 18 work days.
My roles on the team as the lead Game Designer:
Wrote and iterated on the GDD.
Maintained the game's vision with the team throughout the development process.
Created prefabs for spells, enemies and rooms.
Integrated all art assets and animations.
Balanced combat and progression.
Designed enemy spawning nodes to scale your current progression.
Made iterative design decisions based on time crunch and QA feedback.
Playtested the game whenever possible.
Participated in daily SCRUM rituals.
